Crochet abbreviations differ depending on country. Therefore is essential to check where the pattern originated.  

 

Below is an abbreviation chart for the most used stitches in crochet patterns. Look for comparison between USA and UK abbreviations to make sure you understand the difference between the crochet stitches terminology.

yoh yarn over hook (most crochet patterns will use yo but UK patterns use yoh instead)
