Super Soft Fur Yarn Cushion

The great thing about this super soft fur yarn cushion is that it is so quick and easy to crochet.

You will need the following to make this super soft fur yarn cushion:

• 6 balls of multi-coloured fur yarn
• Crochet hook no 4.5
• Cushion insert of 40 x 40 cm 

Measurements of the cushion are: 40 x 40 cm.

Crochet a small sample first before you start the cushion.

Pattern for this cushion: 

The crochet stitches of this cushion are made of double crochet (dc) and chain stitches (ch) – alternating 1 dc and 1 ch. Each row starts with 3 ch (= 1^st dc). Each double crochet in this pattern is made over the chain stitch of the previous row.

Make a foundation chain of 63 ch.

• Row 1: Insert your hook in 4^th ch and * crochet 1 dc, 1 ch, continue crocheting with 1 dc (in every 2^nd chain of the foundation chain), 1 ch, finishing the row with a dc.

• Row 2: 3 ch, 1 dc, 1 ch, continue crocheting with 1 dc over ch over previous row, 1 ch, finishing the row with a dc.

• Repeat row 2 until the required length of the cushion (40 cm). 

30 rows should give you the required measurement of 40 x 40 cm.

Finishing the cushion:

• Join both panels together, right side out. Join 3 sides of the cushion with sc – 2sc in each open mesh.

• Now make a chain of 125 ch and then cast off.  

• Start a second chain with making 1 sc in the same corner of the other chain, now make 125ch again.

• Insert the cushion and with your crochet hook pull through the crochet chains through the open mesh of both top rows (like you do with shoe laces). Fasten both chains with a bow (again like you do with shoe laces). The advantage of this is that you can wash the cushion cover and the insert separately. This will keep the cushion cover in shape.
